BikeBUZZ at Joe’s Farm Grill, Gilbert

Come out and join members of  the CAzB for the first BikeBUZZ on March 10, 2012 after a ride from Joe’s Farm Grill to Usery and back. The ride begins at 7 AM and the coffee will be at 10 AM.

Help spread awareness of the purpose and work of the Coalition of Arizona Bicyclists, several coffees post-ride are being planned. It’s an easy way to connect. Join a recreational ride, stop for coffee afterwards and learn more about the Coalition from its board members.

The first BikeBUZZ is scheduled for Saturday, March 10, 2012. A ride will leave from Joe’s Farm Grill at 7 AM for 32 miles of moderate riding and will conclude with coffee at Joe’s Farm Grill at 10 AM and some discussion about bicycling in Arizona. Bring your suggestions and concerns.

  • Clear Channel radio interviews – safe cycling, 3-foot safe passing distance, etc. 
  •  Meeting with Verde Valley advocates and Yavapai County transportation staff to improve plans for paved shoulders on Cornville Road 
  • LAB “Bicycle Friendly State” evaluation LAB “Bicycle Friendly Community” evaluations – Scottsdale, Tempe, Phoenix 
  • Alliance for Biking & Walking Workshop – Tucson (participated and connected with Tucson advocates, ADOT representatives, Tucson Transportation staff and public officials) 
  • ADOT Bicycle Safety Action Plan (input) and Statewide Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan Update Committee (participation and input) – ongoing 
  • Submitting programs to MAG for funding: (1) Law Enforcement Officer Training, (2) Adult/Teen “Ready to Ride” program – in progress 
  • Active Lifestyle Vehicle competition/fund-raising event (October 22)

Phx Bicycle Initiative Subcommittee mtg is WEDNESDAY, not Thursday

Flash update — City of Phx Bicycle Initiative Subcommittee for this month will be WEDNESDAY (tomorrow!) May 25, 2011 at 4:30pm; rather than the usual fourth Thursday. Sorry for the late notice.

The EQC (Environmental Quality Committee) meets once per month on the third Thursday at 8 a.m. in the Phoenix City Hall, 200 W. Washington, 14th Floor, Conference Room 14W (unless otherwise specified).

The Bicycle Initiative Subcommittee meets the fourth Thursday of the month, 4-6 p.m. in the Phoenix City Hall, 200 W. Washington, 1st Floor, Assembly Room D (unless otherwise specified).
