Call for Speakers
Active Arizona is seeking speakers for the 2027 Active Arizona Transportation Summit. While the date and location have not been finalized, the Summit will be on a Friday in mid-April 2027 and will be held in the greater Phoenix area. Please see submission instructions and timeline below.
About the Active Arizona Transportation Summit
With a yearly attendance of around 100 people, the Active Arizona Transportation Summit, which started as the Arizona Bicycling Summit in 2016, is an annual meeting where advocates, public officials, planners, and active transportation and recreation users explore what’s next for biking, walking, running, and more.
Categories for Proposals
For the 2027 Summit we are looking for speakers on the following topics:
● Success stories from Arizona based active transportation or active recreation groups, such as (but not limited to)
o Community groups

o Hiking, running, biking clubs
● Active transportation infrastructure and planning
o BUILD America 250 Act / Transportation Funding
o Economic Impacts of active transportation infrastructure
o Elected Officials Experience
● Active outdoor recreation
o Mountain biking
o Gravel cycling

o Hiking
● Vulnerable road user safety
● Bicycle Law
o Active Transportation Definition
o Law Enforcement, Expert Witness Aspects

● Other Innovative or Emerging Active Transportation Topics
Speaker Proposal Requirements
● Presentation Title
● Brief overview of presentation including learning objectives [maximum 300 words]
● Approximate length of presentation
● Brief speaker biography, including education and speaking experience [1 page maximum plus a 30 word condensed biography]
Submission Instructions and Deadline
Please submit your proposal by October 31, 2026. Speakers will be selected and notified by January 2027. Please upload your proposal to our online submission page at this link.
