Bicycling in my family goes back a long way…not sure how long. But, I was going through some old family documents today and found my Dad’s 1942 bicycle license (Dayton, Ohio…home of the Wright Brothers, who were bicycle shop owners before creating the first manned flight). His note to me when he sent me this years ago was that he had a red and white Elgin because they could not afford a Schwinn, which would have been nearly $50.00.
