You say you already know how to ride a bike? We say you can always be better...and safer. The Coalition
offers riding classes for groups, kids, beginners, novices and Mountain Bikers as well. Our schedule is listed below. For more information

Does the statement "Bicyclists fare best when they act as, and are treated as drivers of slower vehicles" ring true to you?
Do you wince when you see a person on a bicycle grossly violate the rules of the road, put themselves at risk of injury, or, conversely, a driver of a
motor vehicle endanger a bicyclist?
If so, you can help yourself and the Arizona bicycling community. The League of American Bicyclists has an Educational Program that addresses these
issues. Here in Arizona, this Effective Cycling program is given by League Cycling Instructors (LCI's), volunteers that have themselves taken these
exacting courses in accident avoidance, state law and safe bicycle driving skills.
I can say from personal experience that my prior 40+ years of using a bicycle did not teach me nearly as much as I learned in two weekends as I took
Road I and the LCI course.
If you wish to improve your bicycling experience, and/or like to teach these best practices to others so that they too will be good examples, please
contact either Radar Matt <radarm@cazbike.org> or Rich Lorance <richl@cazbike.org>.
The Road I class is either a Saturday or a Saturday and Sunday when bicycle maintenance is covered. It is generally given once a month in the cooler
part of the year. Some are of, by and for women only. See the Education section of this website for the current schedule.
The Instructor class is open to Road I graduates and is a full Friday, Saturday and Sunday program. It is scheduled on an as demanded basis. Again ,
see the Education section of this website.
The Coalition offers kid classes as
well! Kids I is geared for adults - basically this means "training the trainer."
